"Shark-Attack" (shark-attack)

A 1991 Crown Victoria LTD with the 5.0. Odo reads ~70k, interior isn’t bad. PO hit a deer but 800 for a car with working AC, stereo and year old tires isn’t bad in my book. Friend had 800, I found him a car on CL, inspected, test drove, and am now keeping it for a few days while I detail the living sh*t out of it. The new owner hasn’t even driven it yet. Made it ~60+ miles on the trip home with no issue and 45 so far today, and it’s the definition of plush. I’ll review it once I’ve finished detailing. In the meantime, any fellow Oppos know of any simple things to improve these cars?
(For anyone still waiting on my writeup for the e24, it’s all drafted out. I just need to stop being lazy and take some pictures.)

Improve the car, I don’t have any suggestions straight off. Things to check would be the front end - he probably doesn’t have stuff worn out yet, but it’s very likely the rubber’s not much good anymore, so there could be a set of ball joints in his future. I saw one of these on the weekend that looked absolutely brand new - it was weird.

No offense, but it’s a bit of a hooptie right now. I suggest you replace the wheels first and repair the oh shits on the front end.

“Dat forerunner” is a massive piece of shit that sounds like a garbage disposal with a spoon in it, and leaks gear oil everywhere out of the transfer case.

I’ll be power washing the engine and undercarriage later today to get a better idea what it needs.

It blows my mind that a car that looks that old was made in ‘91 (I’m referring to the model itself, not your friend’s new car).

635. Yeah she’s a looker. I can’t bring myself to sell.

None taken. Personally I like the turbines, maybe some lower profile tires. I’m thinking of something to redo the front end. Round headlights might be nice, it won’t be perfect though.

Probably a broken driveshaft. When I broke my front shaft, it puked fluid everywhere. The sound means it probably needs more fluid.

It brings too much attention. I mean sometimes it’s cool to have people approach you in a parking lot to chat, but usually I prefer to remain anonymous.

No doubt but my neighbors are trashy idiots who cant take care of their shit and will just leave a decent vehicle to die a slow death. Tis a shame.

^91 E150,
vs. ‘75. Kind of a Ford thing. It gets worse, though.
‘70,
‘68...
You drag it all the way back to a ‘63, and the styling isn’t so absolutely continuous...
Or is it?
Definite deliberate family resemblance. FOOOOOOOOORDDDDD

What makes the above examples even more demented is that when they moved away from the Falcon platform with the vans, they actually moved closer to Falcon styling. Which dates effectively from 1960. Schizophrenia galore.

Is the E24 a genuine Euro? SO NICE.

Yep, that will be my first suggestion if my friend doesn’t like the turbines. That or these
Favorite muscle-y wheel ever.

Thanks! Unfortunately no. It’s got almost all euro parts on it and will eventually be all Euro except the rear bumper. I do like the idea that if someone were to hit me from the rear, the bumper will absorb alot of it, and it’s not as bad looking as the DOT front.

Mmmmm Weld Drag Lites. Ford should have just sold LX 5.0 Fox bodies with them from the factory.

I’m not big into mustangs but I’d love a foxbody on drag lites. A match made in heaven.

Agreed! The front bumper is way more offensive than the rear. I had a “world bumper” version (88-89) with the smaller, body color diving boards. You could always swap the rear from one of those on if you’d like more paint and less rubber!

Well the market for that car was older folks where “conservative styling” was a plus and not a minus. And the following model year (‘92) a brand new body style and 4.6 SOHC V8 Came out.

That’s a damn fine car for the money. Is it just the grille and light cluster, or are you looking at fender and plastic bumper filler too?

This beauty survived till ‘92.

I’ll have to look into that actually. Especially considering the rubber on the rear has shrunk a bit, and the big plastic side light housings in the rear are kind of offensive.

The whole shebang. Luckily the fender I think I can remove and fix the dent, it won’t be perfect but it’ll make a good DD.
